EL has come a long way. From the days of Skillions to being nominated in ten categories, to winning the Artiste of the Year trophy, the BAR has proved just rapping is not really that impressive anymore. There just has to be more. You have to be a multi layered artist. Shouts to Gemini, the second coming of Flowking Stone and all the other rappers waiting in line to make the impact EL and Sark are making now.
And EL winning on the Artist of the year on Sunday morning just like Wizkid’s global takeover was premeditated.
“I no bore, they said I was a sellout, I will never be more thanObuumor, then Kaalu came, Halleluyah followed, Ayaya, Shelele too drop.”
You will agree with me if I say Koko and Minaa Bo Po propelled theBBnZ Live act to throne he occupies now after Stonebwoy’s reign.
EL has more than one-upped all the Hip Hop purists.
Truth be told, Bisa KDei had too much going on for him on the night. From trying to sway the critics of his performance to his side, to claiming he is one of the pioneers of High Life to apologizing to the millions watching. Bisa was under so much pressure.
All Elom Adablah did on the night was open the show with Koko. The rest was plaques and speeches.
I love Bisa Kdei’s songs. That Samina song featuring Obrafour has done a lot for my relationship personally. But come on Bisa, you are a High Life artist competing against Dancehall, Hiplife and HipHop artists and so what? To all those defending him with that point, is Amakye Dede and Hip Hop artists?
Opinion are like noses everyone has one but please. Shout outs to my friend Akrobeto.
Even if you weren’t at the venue, see how Efya serenaded patrons and viewers. Performance is not about jumping on having dancers on stage.
I think we all have to agree Bisa is a great songwriter and recording artists who doles out hits only. He just can’t perform.
My performance of the night will go to Stonebwoy. What!!! The whole auditorium was on its feet for the Bhim Native.
I will reserve my second spot for the man on Drake’s Views from the Six; Wizkid. The Starboy showed class with his transitions.
There are artists that can really write songs. Shouts to Bisa KDei. There are artists that can sing very well. Shouts to Highlife act Nana Quame. There are artists that can rap. Shouts to PaeDae. Kofi Kinaata is a triple threat. He can write, sing and rap. But who advised him to bring those dancers on stage. They had no business on the stage. There was no link between them and the performance.
Naa Ashorkor’s rap
The performances was mostly live.
The award presenters were brief.
Obrafour’s hat was outstanding

Nadia Buari’s costume
Kofi Kinaata’s back up dancers was unnecessary
Bisa Kdei’s performance
PaeDae not winning rapper of the year
Sarkodie not appearing for two of the awards he won
EL’s performance was extremely short.
A B Crentsil’s Life Time Achievement Award not getting a documentary treatment. Efya and Adomaa got documentaries.
Bisa KDei said he is a pioneer of High Life and later apologized
